LADOT TRANSIT ACCESSIBILITY

ADA

People with disabilities and senior citizens are always welcome on all LADOT services. LADOT's fixed route Commuter Express and DASH services are provided with buses equipped with wheelchair lift or ramps. The Cityride Program provides taxi and Dial-A-Ride van services to eligible seniors and disabled people who live in Los Angeles and portions of Los Angeles County.

Cityride

Cityride is a transportation assistance program for individuals age 65 or older and qualified disabled persons in the City of Los Angeles and select areas of Los Angeles County. The program offers Cityride participants reduced costs for the purchase of City of Los Angeles permitted taxi rides and Cityride Dial-A-Ride services.

Reasonable Accommodations Requests

The Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) has recently revised the rules for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The revised rules provide for public transit organizations to make reasonable modifications and accommodations to policies, practices, and procedures to avoid discrimination, and to ensure accessibility to individuals with disabilities.
