ACCESSIBLE SERVICES

People with disabilities and senior citizens are always welcome on all LADOT services. LADOT's fixed route Commuter Express and DASH services are provided with buses equipped with wheelchair lift or ramps. The Cityride Program provides taxi and Dial-A-Ride van services to eligible seniors and disabled people who live in Los Angeles and portions of Los Angeles County.

Seniors and the mobility challenged also benefit from LADOT's reduced fare programs. Eligible seniors and the disabled with a government issued proof of disability card and a photo ID, ride at rates that are one half of the cash fare charged regular passengers.

Service dogs are allowed on all LADOT services with proper documentation. Walkers, crutches and other mobility devices are also approved for use. All LADOT fixed route buses are equipped with two wheelchair tie-down position. Disabled passengers requiring additional accommodation can call the LADOT Transit Customer Service Center at (213, 310, 323, 818) 808-2273 to arrange special services. Riders with limited mobility; who are blind, deaf or hard of hearing can request that their driver vocally identify stops.

LADOT has designed its Customer Services to also meet the needs of seniors and the disabled by providing a fully functional web site and printed materials that are fully compliant with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
